Cheapest Available Hotel Room

Cheapest Available Hotel Room

You’ll be amazed to find out how much this room costs per night. Compared to one of the over-priced, dirtiest hotel room we showed you in Russia, this tops it, as far as price and cleanliness is concerned. This room in a Chinese hotel only costs $2 a night and is equipped with everything you might need. It beats the hell of a dormroom and it’s certainly cheaper than my rent. Wishful thinking…

World's Worst Hotel

World's Worst Hotel

These pictures were taken by an American that traveled throughout Russia, staying in many Russian hotels. The cost of staying one night in this hotel room has 40$, purchasing in advance several nights. He stayed one night and remained totally and utterly shocked. He took these pictures and posted them on the blog, spreading the word and shocking other Americans alike. So take a mental note: before choosing a hotel, see the pictures of the room you will be staying in!

Capsule Hotel Osaka Japan

Capsule Hotel Osaka Japan

It looks more like a submarine than anything else; absolutely mini capsules stacked on top of one another for rooms. They cater to budget travelers (you aren’t exactly paying for a lot of space), and on the site they say “single travelers welcome”. That’s good, because I don’t think you could fit a party of two in there, no matter how well they know each other.

Jumbo Hostel - World’s First Airplane Hotel , Sweden

Jumbo Hostel - World’s First Airplane Hotel , Sweden

Under a Swedish company called Transjet Airways, the aircraft carried Muslims in their pilgrimage to the holiest city, Mecca, and was also used for charter flights around the world. But when in 2002 serious “organizational problems” were discovered, the airplane was immediately grounded on one of the runways at Arlanda Airport, the largest international airport in Sweden, north of Stockholm. When Oscar Dios heard the rumor about a Boeing 747-200’s “corpse” all buried in oblivion, he came up with the magnificent idea of acquiring the 747 and converting it into a low-cost hostel.

Sewage pipe Hotel, Das Park, Austria

Sewage pipe Hotel Das Park Austria

Here’s another one for the budget-minded: you get to sleep in a giant concrete sewage pipe. Yup, you read it right. Initially I wondered why anybody would sleep in such an atrocity, and after researching the piece I still feel that way. The only saving grace I could see is its location: on the Danube, near Linz.
